Chef Chiaramonte acquitted in drug trial by Catania court
The fourth section of the Catania Court acquitted chef Carmelo Chiaramonte from all charges related to the possession and distribution of narcotics and their use in food additives. The investigation was initiated in September 2019 by the Carabinieri of Pedara. Chiaramonte, defended by lawyer Rita Lucia Faro, has always claimed innocence, stating that he was researching the therapeutic effects of non-Thc cannabis for pain relief and its benefits for oncology patients’ diets. He expressed relief at the verdict, stating that the investigation was a misunderstanding and a threat to his reputation, but he trusted in the justice system and was happy with the outcome.
