Chamber music in Palermo: Concert season begins with Quartetto Montalbano

The chamber music concert season at the Politeama Garibaldi in Palermo has begun. There are eight appointments starting from Sunday, May 5, continuing in June and then starting again in September with concerts until September 26. The season kicks off on Sunday (May 5) with a concert by the Montalbano Quartet, which has chosen to structure its concerts as a journey through the great film music of the 20th century, with a focus on Italian and American composers. The ensemble consists of Domenico Marco and Gabriella Iusi on violin, Giuseppe Brunetto on viola, and Domenico Guddo on cello. The program includes well-known pieces by Oscar winners such as Luis Bacalov, Ennio Morricone, and Nicola Piovani, as well as works by composers like Nino Rota, Henry Mancini, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Adele, Lalo Schrifin, and Dmitrij ostakovic. Tickets cost 5 euros.
