A 36-year-old man, known to the police, damaged the offices of the police station in Catania after being brought there for being stopped during a police check. The man, who was riding a scooter, decided to speed away from a police checkpoint, prompting officers to follow and eventually arrest him. It was discovered that he had previously been placed under house arrest and had violated alcohol restrictions while driving. The man was arrested for resisting a public official and aggravated damage, and is now under house arrest pending trial.
