Carmen Consoli: “We are a society of unhappy people, we need to overturn our values”

“We must give human beings the time to decide what they want to do. You are not a failure if you do not have money and an SUV, you are a failure if you are not happy. And you can be happy even if you have little, but doing what makes us feel good. We are a society of unhappy people, we need to overturn all values”. This was said by Carmen Consoli, participating in the event “GenerAzione RiBelle – United Voices against Violence”, organized by the hair designer and artistic director of the Compagnia della Bellezza group, Salvo Filetti, with the director and art director Viviana Santanello and the anti-violence center Thamaia onlus on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The event brought together women who work every day, each in their own field, to support women and their rights. An “indignant” Salvo Filetti addressed men, inviting them to “make their voice heard, take a stand, and not let women’s battles remain a gender issue.” With her, there were also Rosa Alba Recupido, president of the third section of the Catania Criminal Court, Nunziella Di Fazio, director of the Piazza Lanza penitentiary, Anna Agosta, president of the Thamaia onlus association, Simonetta Murolo, president of the Cpo Odcec of Catania, chef Valeria Raciti, entrepreneur Sarah Spampinato, story editor Maddalena Filetti, and stylist Susanna Ausoni. The university professor Rosario Faraci and the writer Elvira Seminara moderated the three panels.
