Car accident in Campobello di Licata: four injured on the highway
Road accident on state road 123, in the territory of Campobello di Licata. In a head-on collision, a Volkswagen and a Citroen were involved: only one man was traveling on the first car, three on the second car. The impact was violent and both the drivers of the vehicles and the passengers were injured: a young man is in more serious condition. All four were taken to the Sant’Elia hospital in Caltanissetta.
When the alarm was raised, in fact, health workers from the 118 and firefighters arrived on the scene and extracted two of the injured from the passenger compartment. Also on the scene of the accident were the Carabinieri of the local station to carry out the surveys and reconstruct the dynamics of the impact. Another accident that occurs on the same stretch of the state road.
A few months ago, another accident had an even more serious outcome: in the collision between a tractor and a Fiat Punto, a fifty-two-year-old man lost his life.
Following the collision, both vehicles overturned and the tractor driver, who was pulling a trailer, was thrown and died on the spot. The driver of the car was instead seriously injured and was transferred to the hospital by the 118 helicopter which took off from Caltanissetta.
