Canadian tourists rescued by firefighters’ helicopter at Vulcano

Alarm in Vulcano for three Canadian tourists who had ventured to Valle Roja for an excursion. However, as often happens in that wild place on the island, they got lost in a canyon.

Fortunately, they managed to contact 112 with their cell phone: once the search was triggered, the carabinieri called for the intervention of the fire brigade helicopter. The soldiers located the position of the tourists through the cell phone coordinates and hoisted them on board with the winch. The helicopter then landed on the Vulcanello runway.

All three, although tired from the experience, are in good condition that they have decided to continue their vacation.
