Caltanissetta mourns Edoardo Bartolotta: He spent his life defending the environment

The Sicilian environmentalist community mourns Edoardo Bartolotta, national councilor of Italia Nostra, the national association for the protection of historical, artistic and natural heritage. Bartolotta was educated at the Sebastiano Mottura Institute in Caltanissetta, and was a teacher of technical education and environmentalist. He was also the founder and director of the Monte Capodarso and Valle dell’Imera Meridionale natural reserve.

The news of his passing was announced by the president of the regional council of Italia Nostra, Leandro Janni, in a Facebook post. Messages of condolences are pouring in on social media. Iana Filiberti writes: “I had him as a colleague for a few years; confident in his ideas, he pursued them with determination and pride. A great loss for the city.” Santo Rizzo: “A dear friend, a cultured and always available person for dialogue. We shared a passion for poetry in the past years. I am very sorry, heartfelt condolences to the family.”
