Breast tumors, Humanitas masterclass in Catania with European experts

A masterclass called “One Day with the Expert in Humanitas Istituto Clinico Catanese” was held where a group of professionals from all over Europe worked with the Breast Unit team of the clinic. Professor Andreas Karakatsanis, an international expert in oncoplasty, focused on surgical techniques to minimize the rate of mastectomies in breast cancer cases. Oncoplasty combines the principles of oncologic surgery with advanced plastic surgery techniques to ensure optimal results in disease control and aesthetic appearance. The initiative was supported by the European Society of Surgical Oncology, G.Re.Ta Ets Foundation, and Humanitas Sicilia Foundation. The success of the masterclass reflects the clinic’s commitment to excellence in medical education.
