Arrested Carabinieri foil attempted jewel robbery in Menfi, Palermo

The suspect, a resident of Palermo, was charged with attempted aggravated robbery and transferred to Sciacca prison to await a trial. The owner Leonardo Campo and employees had already been victims of a major robbery last July, where three robbers tied them up and stole watches and precious jewelry worth a total of 800,000 euros. Two weeks ago, another robbery occurred in Sambuca di Sicilia, but the owner, Girolamo Lo Giudice, managed to defend himself and drive them away. It remains to be seen if these recent robberies have the same motive. The robber has a criminal record in the province of Palermo.
