He had been sentenced to 25 years for murder

CAMPOFELICE DI ROCCELLA, JUL 13 – The carabinieri of the Cefalù company, with colleagues from the Palermo Villagrazia dog group, arrested a forty-year-old of Albanian origin, in execution of an international arrest order, condemned by the Tirana court to 25 years of imprisonment for the offenses of murder, illegal possession of firearms and robbery.
The man was wanted since the beginning of 2000 when, following a robbery in Albania, he killed a fellow citizen and subsequently became untraceable.
From the time of the events he was hiding in Italy, under false generalities, where part of his family of origin resides.
The investigations, coordinated by the Termini Imerese prosecutor’s office, allowed the capture of the Albanian fugitive in Campofelice di Roccella.
The Tirana authorities and the central police department also collaborated in the investigations.
The arrested person was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority for subsequent extradition operations in Albania.
