#Ragusa
A Belgian tourist in Modica, in the province of Ragusa, has been involved in an episode of violence after finding a fine on his car. The tourist had parked his vehicle near the blue lines, but without purchasing a parking ticket. When he returned to his car, he targeted the traffic warden on duty, although it was his colleague who had issued the fine. He began yelling and violently tore up the citation in a fit of rage. Onlookers attempted to calm him down, but it was only when some passersby managed to distance him that the tension subsided. “We condemn any act of violence,” said Modica’s mayor, Ignazio Abbate. “We are a hospitable and welcoming community, and we will not tolerate such incidents. We stand by the assaulted officer and will provide all necessary support to reach a quick and fair resolution.”
