Photo exhibition in Palermo featuring Pietro Busetta, economist and visionary traveler
Pietro Massimo Busetta, despite being a well-known economist, has always had a passion for photography. He captures emotions, stops encounters, and seeks small truths in scenes of everyday life, resulting in a collection of fifty photographs and a video of 250 images taken over fifty years of travels around the world. The exhibition “Impressioni-smo. Fotogrammi di un viaggiatore visionario” curated by Giacomo Fanale, will open on Saturday, October 19 at 6 pm at Monte dei pegni di Santa Rosalia di Palazzo Branciforte in Palermo, and will run until December 1. The exhibition is produced and organized by Settimana delle Culture with the support of Fondazione Sicilia and the contribution of Fondazione Sicania and Sicilbanca. The exhibition is described as a journey through a world of reality and emotions captured by Busetta’s photographs with strength and passion. Busetta, who describes himself as a “photographer by chance,” believes that the camera lens cannot be separated from reality and the places visited. The images, chosen from the thousands of shots taken by Busetta on five continents, capture atmospheres, colors, and the deepest souls of distant peoples, cultures, and places. The curator Giacomo Fanale highlights how Busetta, like all great travelers, captures surprising visions in his photographs, impressions that reflect unique sensitivity and immersion in various contexts and atmospheres.
