Fined in Sciacca for taking water from stream with tanker
A Ribera water tanker has been caught illegally taking water from the Bellapietra stream in the Timpi Russi area of Sciacca. The water was being diverted from the stream to fill a reservoir. The Ribera driver has been fined by the police and carabinieri, who are being coordinated by deputy police commissioner Cesare Castelli. There may also be criminal implications. Police and carabinieri have been conducting control services to prevent and address water abuses in the Saccense area during a period of severe water emergency.
