Messina man sets fire to bar window: arrested
An eighteen-year-old was arrested on the night between the 21st and 22nd of June, caught in the act by the police patrol officers, for setting fire to the window of a bar on Via Catania. The man then tried to avoid capture by fleeing through the city streets on a motorcycle that was later determined to be stolen.
The young man was seen by an off-duty police officer with his face covered, pouring liquid from a plastic bottle onto the window of a bar. After setting the fire, the thief fled, chased by the officer who alerted the Operations Room and a patrol car. The boy was eventually caught.
