Ispica road accident leaves six injured, one in serious condition

He lost control of his car and ended up on another vehicle, causing a collision that also involved another car. The accident occurred in the Favara district in Ispica, where six people were injured in total: one is in particularly serious conditions and needed to be transported to the Cannizzaro hospital in Catania by helicopter.

The other injured individuals were instead hospitalized in the hospitals of Avola and Modica, and their conditions are not considered worrying. At the scene of the accident, in addition to the emergency medical personnel who arrived with four ambulances, the municipal police officers and firefighters from the Modica detachment also intervened. Investigations are ongoing to reconstruct the dynamics of the collision.

Also in the territory of Ispica, but in this case on the SS 194 state road, another serious accident occurred in mid-May, which had a tragic outcome. The victim was a cyclist from Scicli, who died after a violent impact with a car. The man, Pino La Guardia, was 58 years old and was a municipal employee and passionate cyclist. According to the reconstruction by law enforcement, the man was hit and killed by a car. He died on the spot.
