5,000 counterfeit clothing items seized in Partinico store
The financial police of the provincial command of Palermo have seized over 5,000 counterfeit clothing items and an entrepreneur. The financial police of the Partinico company found that a well-known commercial business in the area was displaying clothing items from famous brands in the storefront with characteristics different from those presented by the manufacturing brands. After entering the store to verify the origin of the merchandise, the authorities requested invoices for the purchased goods and any other documentation proving the legitimacy of the items for sale. With no documents to justify the legitimate origin of the products, the financial police extended their checks to the company’s warehouse, where they found and seized over 5,000 counterfeit items. At the end of the operations, the owner of the clothing store was reported to the local Prosecutor’s Office for receiving stolen goods and trading in products with false labels (Articles 648 and 474 of the Criminal Code). This operation falls within the institutional tasks of the financial police, which is constantly engaged in the repression of economic offenses in all forms, with a focus on protecting the market, Italian-made products, free competition for businesses, and the final consumer.
