50-year-old man reported for theft of computer material at Canicattini Bagni municipal office
In Lentini, the carabinieri of Canicattini Bagni and the local station carried out a search warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Siracusa and reported a 50-year-old man with no previous criminal record who is strongly suspected of aggravated theft.
The man, believed to be the perpetrator of the theft committed in the offices of the municipal building of Canicattini Bagni, allegedly entered the municipal premises during a social event organized a few days earlier by that administration, stealing a laptop, a USB drive, various computer, technological and stationery materials, as well as 8 blank disabled parking passes.
Following the report, the Carabinieri immediately started investigations which, through the analysis of surveillance systems and further collected evidence, led to the identification of the fifty-year-old man who, at the request of the investigators, the judicial authority of Siracusa issued a search warrant.
The home search carried out by the military allowed to find all the stolen material reported, which was found in the man’s car trunk. The stolen items were returned to the municipal administration and the mayor thanked the carabinieri for the prompt resolution of the case. The man has been reported and will have to answer for aggravated theft.
