12-year-old dies in collision between scooter and car in Palagonia, riding electric scooter with peer

A twelve-year-old boy died in Palagonia in the collision between the scooter on which he was traveling with a peer and a car. The accident happened yesterday afternoon (October 12th), around 5 pm, in via Garibaldi, near the cemetery.

The victim is Simone Lagona. The health workers of the 118 immediately arrived at the scene of the accident, but their attempts to save the boy were unsuccessful. The other twelve-year-old was instead urgently transferred to the Policlinico of Catania. He is out of danger. The driver of the car did not suffer any injuries. The carabinieri are investigating the accident.
