107 kilos of fish seized in stores and 38 animals in a farm in Palermo and province.

Explain in brief the following article:

In April, a total of 107 kilograms of fish, valued at around 4,000 euros, were seized in Palermo. The seizure was the result of inspections carried out by the Carabinieri Nas, with the support of colleagues and technical staff from the Asp, at fish markets and local shops. The aim of the operation was to ensure compliance with hygiene and EU regulations regarding the fishing industry. The seized fish lacked proper traceability, compromising food safety.

The Nas also inspected other establishments, such as a supermarket operating as an unauthorized food storage facility and a bakery with unregistered structural changes. As a result of these inspections, administrative fines totaling 3,500 euros were issued.

In the province of Palermo, an illegal breeding facility was fined a total of 60,000 euros. The Carabinieri blocked 38 head of cattle due to lack of farm code and missing identification tags. Additionally, 1,605 kilograms of animal feed lacking traceability were administratively seized.
