Young woman raped by gang at Foro Italico reports another assault, fails to show up in court

The 19-year-old victim of a gang rape at the Foro Italico on July 7th did not appear in court nor did she file a civil party constitution in another trial where she reported being raped by a 50-year-old relative, G.P., with abbreviated proceedings. The trial will continue regularly, but the victim’s defense may not be able to carry out all the important activities like questioning witnesses. Lawyer Carla Garofalo, representing the victim, suggested a possible notification issue, as the victim did not receive notice of the hearing or appoint other lawyers. Riccardo Parrinello has already been sentenced to 8 years and 8 months for the Foro Italico rape, and the trial for the six adults involved will begin on April 19th with the same abbreviated procedure.
