Young man arrested in Catania for drug dealing and resisting a public official
During the nightly territory control services, the agents of the flying squad of the Catania police intervened in Viale Kennedy, near a well-known beach establishment, following a report of the presence of a troublesome person. Upon arrival, the agents immediately identified and checked a young man matching the description provided, who showed signs of irritation. When asked by the police, the young man provided some information that raised doubts about its truthfulness. During the inspection, the man tried to walk away, resisting when the police tried to stop him. During a search, he was found to be in possession of 4 envelopes containing cocaine, totaling 2.20 grams, and 60 euros. He was then taken to the offices of the scientific police for identification procedures. He turned out to be a 27-year-old man from Nisseno, with a criminal record, currently subject to the special surveillance measure with an obligation to stay in Caltanissetta.
In light of these events, the young man was arrested for drug possession for trafficking, resistance to a public official, and violation of the special surveillance measure. Informed, the duty prosecutor ordered to subject the man to house arrest at his own residence, pending validation before the Judge for Preliminary Investigations. The young man was also reported in freedom for the crimes of outrage to a public official and false statements to a public official about his personal identity.
