Woman sees daughter with two boys, slaps them, steals car: shot in legs, injury reconstructed in Grammichele
In the morning, he would have seen his daughter in the car of two young people. He made her get out and slapped the two, also taking their car. In the evening, he met them to return the car and at that moment he was shot twice in the legs. According to the carabinieri, this is the reconstruction of the ambush against a 40-year-old criminal with a record who, in Grammichele, in the province of Catania, around 10 pm on September 24, 2023, in the central Piazza Carlo Maria Carafa, was shot in the legs. By pure chance, the shooting did not involve some citizens unrelated to the incident, there was also a young child in the square.
As part of the investigations into the injury, the military police have arrested two young people from Caltagirone, aged 26 and 23, and have imposed a house arrest on a third young man, aged 24. The youngest of the three was tracked down and arrested in Weinheim, Germany, and is now under house arrest. The twenty-six-year-old – accused of being the material author of the injury – was arrested at the port of Palermo, after disembarking from a ferry from Genoa, and was imprisoned.
The precautionary measures were carried out by the carabinieri of the operational section of the Caltagirone company and by those of the Grammichele station. The charges range from aggravated personal injuries in concert by the discharge of firearm to the possession and carrying in a public place of a common firearm. The order is from the investigating judge of the Caltagirone court.
The victim, involved in the criminal context of Grammichele, had gone to the emergency room of the hospital in Caltagirone and had said that he was injured by unknown persons in an area on the outskirts of the town due to a love affair with a woman. However, the carabinieri were able to reconstruct the incident from the images recorded by the surveillance cameras of a commercial establishment. During a search at the house of the twenty-six-year-old, the carabinieri seized two guns belonging to the young man’s grandfather, with whom he lived, one of which, a Beretta semi-automatic caliber 7.65, through technical investigations would seem to be compatible with the one used in the injury.
