Valderice man evades house arrest: found after 24 hours under bed

A 33-year-old man escaped from house arrest the day after the judge’s order and was found by the carabinieri after 24 hours of searching, hiding under the bed at home in Valderice. He had been arrested for not stopping at a checkpoint and kicking the carabinieri’s car. The judge had ordered house arrest for him and his partner, but he had fled on the second day. Despite his partner’s claim that he had not returned home, the carabinieri found him hiding under the bed. He was taken to prison in Trapani, and the woman was reported for aiding and abetting.
