Still another fatal accident in Sicily. Late last night, two cars collided on the state road 626 Gela-Caltanissetta, at the Capodarso viaduct, and two people lost their lives. According to the reconstruction, a 28-year-old man driving a Citroen crashed into a small van traveling on the opposite lane.

The impact was very strong and one car was torn in two. The driver of the Citroen and a 36-year-old woman, who was on the other vehicle, died, while 4 other people were injured. A 31-year-old woman who was traveling in the Citroen was transported in critical condition by helicopter to the Sant’Elia hospital in Caltanissetta. On the other vehicle, where the deceased woman was traveling, there was also a 41-year-old man, who was transported in serious condition to the hospital in Enna.

Ambulances from the emergency medical service, police rescue vehicles, and firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident. A stretch of road was closed to traffic in both directions. The traffic police carried out all the necessary investigations to understand the exact dynamics of the accident.
