Tunisian’s solo journey in a small boat to Lampedusa

The coast guard 206 Corrias of the Italian financial police intercepted and escorted a 4-meter dinghy with only one Tunisian on board to the port of Lampedusa. The man reported that he had departed from the beach of Mellouleche in Tunisia. After a preliminary medical check, he was transferred to the hotspot where there were 393 other guests. Following orders from the Agrigento Prefecture, 198 migrants will be transferred to Porto Empedocle via a ferry in the morning, with another transfer planned for the evening.
