Truck driver, 39, investigated for fatal Capo d’Orlando accident

The truck driver involved in the fatal accident on December 7th in Capo d’Orlando has been registered as a suspect for vehicular manslaughter. The crash cost the life of Carmelo Masi, 60 years old, and caused serious injuries to his wife, who is still in intensive care with a reserved prognosis. The Patti Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case on the tragedy and commissions have been appointed for technical and medical-legal investigations, including an autopsy on Masi’s body. Many are praying for the woman, who has been hospitalized since the day of the accident. The accident involved a truck swerving into oncoming traffic, hitting the Audi carrying the Masi couple. The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old of Tunisian origin, suffered only minor injuries and is now under investigation. The death of Masi and the serious condition of his wife have deeply saddened the community of Brolo, where all Christmas events have been suspended.
