Trial for the Borsellino massacre, the prosecutor general: three police officers convicted

At the end of the closing argument in the appeal trial for the obstruction of justice in the investigation of the massacre in via d’Amelio in Palermo on July 19, 1992, Prosecutor General Fabio D’Anna requested a sentence of 9 years and 6 months of imprisonment for Inspector Fabrizio Mattei, 11 years and 10 months for Commissioner Mario Bo and 9 years and 6 months for Agent Michele Ribaudo, the three members of the State Police who were part of the Falcone-Borsellino investigation group on the ’92 massacres. The accused are charged with aggravated defamation for having favored the association of the Mafia Cosa Nostra.
