Trapani aims for UNESCO candidacy in tourism
With almost four thousand years of history, crystal clear sea, unspoiled nature, excellent food and wine, high-quality production, and infrastructure, the entire province of Trapani has the potential to become the first widespread and transversal tourism project in Italy, open 365 days a year. The first convention on cross-sector tourism, “Waiting for the winter solstice,” aims to gather stakeholders and explore the possibility of a unified strategy for a potential UNESCO recognition. The Chamber of Commerce of Trapani and the Logos, in collaboration with Unioncamere Sicilia, will discuss this project and also evaluate the feasibility of a potential UNESCO candidacy. They also plan to build a year-round hospitality chain and test the integrated tourism system in 2025, anticipating events that will attract national and international media attention. The convention will host various speakers and sessions, aimed at training operators and entrepreneurs, and discussing the development of infrastructure for the region. It will also include the presentation of a book on public and private law in tourism.
