Train hits cattle on Siracusa-Gela line; owner charged
The police in Siracusa identified and reported an 82-year-old man as the owner of the cows that were hit inside a tunnel on December 5th at around 2:30 pm by a regional train from Gela to Siracusa. The accident caused a disruption in the railway service from 2:30 pm to 6:04 pm, and resulted in the cancellation of four regional trains. The man is being charged with disruption of public service and negligent supervision in the custody of animals.
