Tragedy in Casteldaccia: Mourning in Metropolitan City on Monday, May 13

In the Metropolitan City of Palermo, on Monday, May 13th, there will be a day of mourning for the five victims of the Casteldaccia massacre. This decision was made by the metropolitan mayor, Roberto Lagalla. Flags will be flown at half-mast at Palazzo Comitini and in all the municipalities of the province of Palermo. On the same day and throughout the school year, high school principals are invited to promote moments of dialogue and reflection with students on workplace safety. Lagalla writes, “With this act, the metropolitan administration intends to solemnly interpret the common feeling of grief of all the citizens of the entire metropolitan area and express a deep sense of condolence to the families of the victims. The proclamation of mourning was considered necessary to express the deep involvement of the institutions and the community in the pain of the families of the victims involved in the tragic workplace accident.”
