Three individuals caught red-handed with 1000 kilograms of copper cables in Palermo: three reported in Ciaculli

They were extracting copper from a thousand kilograms of electrical cables, all stolen. Three men were caught red-handed by the carabinieri in the Ciaculli area of Palermo, where a “laboratory” was discovered where the filaments were then collected in large bundles. R.L, 44 years old, T.S, 21, and G.V, 33, were indeed caught inside a private area, in the countryside on the outskirts of the city, while unwinding the large quantity of cables, most of which were found to be missing the copper filaments. These were intended for the black market, ready to be resold and the subject of theft in various areas of the Sicilian capital and province. The band was identified by the carabinieri of Misilmeri: at the sight of the soldiers, the three accomplices tried to escape on foot, taking refuge in a nearby house. However, the escape attempt was short-lived, as they were caught by the carabinieri and all three were charged with receiving stolen goods in collusion.
