Three Egyptians arrested at the Lampedusa hotspot on charges of human trafficking

Police officers from the Mobile Unit of the Agrigento Police Headquarters have arrested three Egyptians on charges of aiding illegal immigration. They were accused of operating a small boat and facilitating the landing of migrants on the largest of the Pelagie Islands. The arrests were made based on a court order requested by the prosecutor’s office. The three suspects will be transferred from the Lampedusa hotspot to the Pasquale Di Lorenzo prison in the city of Agrigento.
