Carabinieri in Acireale (Catania) have reported a 30-year-old man as the author of a theft that occurred between 5 and 6 in the morning on November 29th at some vending machines at a 24-hour store on Corso Umberto. The thief used stones to break the machines and stole cash and merchandise worth thousands of euros. The man is facing charges of aggravated theft. The images of the theft had circulated on the internet, causing outrage among citizens who saw the hooded criminal violently attacking the machines. The military identified the 30-year-old after reviewing surveillance camera footage and found the clothes and shoes he was wearing at the time of the theft in his home.
