Theft at a gas station in Agrigento, surveillance system damaged: investigations underway

Another gas station in the province of Agrigento was assaulted. This time the Q8 station on state road 189, located along the Agrigento-Palermo route, was targeted. According to an initial reconstruction, someone broke a window and entered the gas station’s offices. There, the safe was present and the thieves forced it open and stole all the cash. Inside were the earnings from several days of work. The thieves also damaged the gas station’s surveillance system.

The owner of the station discovered the theft and immediately alerted the carabinieri. The military arrived on the scene, conducted all necessary investigations, and questioned the owner to determine if he had seen or heard anything suspicious in the past few days. The amount of the loot has not been quantified yet, but it is substantial considering the earnings from several days were in the safe.

A similar incident occurred a few weeks ago at the gas station on state road 115, in the offices of the gas station at the Naro junction. The thieves managed to break in and crack the safe with about 500 euros inside. In this case as well, the discovery was made just as the owner was preparing to reopen the business.
