The Memory of Don Pino Puglisi, a Documentary After Thirty Years Since His Assassination

Rai Documentaries commemorates the 30th anniversary of the death of Father Pino Puglisi, the first martyr of the church killed by the mafia. The documentary titled “Me l’aspettavo – Il sorriso di Don Puglisi” explores his life through testimonies from those who worked and lived alongside him. The documentary includes the deposition of the killer during the trial, memories from nuns and priests close to Father Puglisi, and interviews with the people he saved from the streets. The event was moderated by Emiliano Abramo, President of the Sant’Egidio community in Sicily, and attended by various dignitaries and producers.
