The loggerhead sea turtle returns to nest at Marina di Modica: “Over 400 eggs discovered”

#Ragusa
Over 400 loggerhead sea turtle eggs have been discovered on the beach in Marina di Modica, Italy. This is a positive sign for the health and quality of the region, as the turtles only choose clean beaches to lay their eggs. The objective now is to protect the three nests from predators such as seagulls and stray dogs, as well as from storms and other weather events. The discovery has been celebrated by Ignazio Abbate, a former mayor, who posted photos on Facebook and highlighted the importance of this event for the local communities.
