The Italian Air Force denies that State secrecy has been imposed on the case of the plane crash in Birgi. The incident, which resulted in the death of Major Fabio Altruda on December 13, involved an Eurofighter aircraft returning to the Trapani Birgi military airport. The Air Force states that all relevant documentation has been made available to the competent authority, including the black box which is currently under seizure. They continue to cooperate with the investigating authorities and warn against spreading false and defamatory information not based on facts. The pilot’s family’s lawyer previously confirmed the imposition of State secrecy.
