Teshome wins duel with Kipkenei at Palermo Marathon: “Tough course, fantastic crowd”

The International Marathon of the City of Palermo was well organized and successful, with over 2,000 athletes running through the natural and artistic beauty of the city. The Kenyan Melly Joel Kipkenei, the second-place finisher, praised the challenging course and expressed his intention to return next year. The Ethiopian Duber Abdisa Teshome won the race, while the Kenyan Njeri Simon Kamau finished third. In the women’s category, the Ethiopian Baraki Gebriala Yowhans set a new record, followed by her compatriot Roba Zeyituna Husan and the Italian Federica Moroni. The runners praised the beauty of the city and the support of the enthusiastic crowd.
