Termini Imerese man accused of receiving stolen checks acquitted

Single judge of the Termini Imerese court, Daniela Mauceri, acquitted Giovanni Napolitano, 39 years old, of charges of receiving stolen goods because the offense did not exist. Napolitano, who worked for a tire dealer in Termini Imerese, was accused of paying him 1,800 euros through a stolen check. However, it was revealed in court that Napolitano, who did not have a regular contract, believed he was signing a work contract and was unaware of any fraudulent activity. The tire dealer was found to have filled out the check himself. Napolitano’s lawyer successfully demonstrated his client’s innocence in the case.
