Tabisca Fest kicks off in Giuliana, uniting three small towns

The article talks about the birth of “Attimi dei Borghi”, a program created by three municipalities in Palermo to jointly promote the territory, its initiatives, and its excellences. The municipalities of Bisacquino, Chiusa Sclafani, and Giuliana have joined forces to promote the cultural richness and liveliness of the villages they govern. The goal is to multiply the communication and attractiveness of their initiatives by working together.

The program starts on June 2 with the Tabisca Fest and the second edition of the Infiorata in Giuliana. It continues on June 16 with the 55th edition of the Cherry Festival in Chiusa Sclafani and culminates from June 20 to 23 with the Borgo Film Fest – Frank Capra Award in Bisacquino.

The Tabisca Fest and Infiorata in Giuliana will feature a special celebration on June 2, including a traditional delicacy called tabisca made with bread, anchovies, and aged cheese which visitors can taste at the gastronomic village set up in the center. The day will also include a procession, live music, and guided tours of the Castle of Frederick II.

The Cherry Festival in Chiusa Sclafani on June 16 will showcase various performances, exhibitions, and cultural activities celebrating the local cherry production. The event will also feature historical car exhibitions, live music, and performances by folk music bands.

Finally, the Borgo Film Fest – Frank Capra Award in Bisacquino from June 20 to 23 will focus on the synergy between cinema and tourism, paying tribute to the hometown director Frank Capra. The festival will include author meetings, conferences, and a gala event with award ceremonies and live music.

This initiative is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Tourism Roots, and the European Union, Ministry of Culture, and Bisacquino Municipality for the “Bisacquino Village of Cinema and Arts” project. The festival aims to rejuvenate and preserve the local history and culture through cinema.
