Syracuse SFRATTED Office: Blood Collection at Risk

The Avis blood donation organization in Syracuse is at risk of eviction from their premises. The State Property Agency has decided to evict Avis from their location in order to use the building for governmental purposes. Avis houses a blood collection unit and carries out various activities related to volunteer donor assistance, epidemiological screening, and medical research. A meeting between the State Property Agency and the Regional authorities is scheduled to find a solution. Avis has requested transparency regarding the specific governmental purpose for eviction and highlights the difficulty of finding a suitable alternative location within the given short notice. The organization has invested significant resources in adapting the premises to meet accessibility standards and expanding the facilities for blood donations. Avis appeals for the renewal of their rental contract and recognition of their favorable conditions as a third-sector entity serving a public utility and interest. They also hope that the issue will be directly addressed by the General Directorate of the State Property Agency.
