“Green League is a European initiative that combines sports activities with respect for the environment,” explains Andrea Schillaci, trainer for Vivi Sano. “We decided to organize the conclusion ceremony of the project here at the Parco della Salute with the presence of many sports disciplines.”

In the early hours of the morning, many participated in a yoga class on the grass by the sea. Then the Foro Italico parkrun to run or walk along the waterfront, and walking football for over 55s, motor literacy activities for children, football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, taekwondo, calisthenics, arm wrestling, and Nordic walking. The three-year project, in addition to organizing sports tournaments, allowed for physical activity in different natural locations in the city.

“We are part of a European project financed by the European Commission, through the Erasmus Plus program,” explains Giorgia Marinelli, project manager of the Cesie Study Center. “Our goal is to bring young people closer to nature so that they take care of their spaces and the place where they live.”

While playing in a climate of fun and inclusion, Daniele Giliberti, President of Vivi Sano, an association that has requalified the park and has managed it since 2015, watches the young people engaged in sports activities. “The park named after Livia Morello confirms itself as a place of beauty and inclusion,” says Giliberti, “a point of reference for citizens where constantly free health promotion activities are carried out, guaranteeing full accessibility to the population. A community place where psychophysical well-being and environmental health are promoted in line with the goals of Agenda 2030.”
