Silvana Saguto’s incompatibility with prison, Palermo judges reserve decision

The judges of the Palermo supervisory court have reserved the right to decide on the request for suspension of the ex-president Silvana Saguto’s prison sentence due to serious psychological disorders. Saguto, who has been sentenced to seven years and ten months for corruption, is currently in prison following a Cassation ruling. She is accused of managing the appointments of judicial administrators for mafia-confiscated assets in a clientelistic manner. At the time of her arrest, she was hospitalized in a clinic in Palermo.
