Sicily by Car wins bid for Ibiza airport
Sicily by Car announces the award of a tender issued by Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (Aena) for a presence inside the international airport of Ibiza, with the allocation of a position in the arrival area, 85 dedicated parking spaces, and approximately 2,200 square meters of facilities within the airport zone.
This award will allow the group to expand its presence in Europe by entering the Spanish market. The establishment of a Spanish legal entity is planned, with operations set to begin in January 2025, as specified in the tender. Sicily by Car will announce the effective start of commercial activities in Spain at the international airport of Ibiza.
“We continue with determination and constancy our development activities in Europe, with particular attention to places with a highly tourist-oriented economy,” says Tommaso Dragotto, president and CEO. “The award of the tender for the Ibiza airport marks a strategic step in Sicily by Car’s internationalization process, representing our first entry into Spain, one of the target countries for our expansion efforts: what we announced at our IPO is therefore being steadily and systematically realized.”
