Sicilian student injured by electric bike, brother: “Whoever hurt him will go to jail”

Mauro, a 25-year-old medical student, was hit in the head by a bicycle thrown by a group of five young people in Palermo in January. He has been in the hospital for eight months, and his brother Michele has dedicated every day of his summer to be with him. Michele expressed his anger and called for justice for Mauro in a post on Instagram. The preliminary hearing against three minors accused of attempted murder will take place on September 7th. Michele wonders if it is fair for these three teenagers to be allowed to go free without even apologizing for almost killing his brother. Mauro’s life has been forever changed by the incident, and he is still in a long-term care center due to his severe injuries. The three minors and two adults involved in the incident will be facing charges.
