Shooting in Misterbianco, man shot in front of bar on Matteotti Street

A man was injured with multiple gunshots to his legs and hand in Misterbianco. The victim is not in life-threatening condition. The shooting took place in front of a bar on via Giacomo Matteotti. According to initial testimonies collected by the Carabinieri of Misterbianco and the provincial command of Catania, the shooter would have been a man who arrived in a car, possibly driven by another person, who got out of the vehicle, approached the victim, and fired at least three gunshots. Then he would have left in the same car. The injured man was assisted by medical personnel and transported to the hospital in an ambulance. At the moment, the shooting does not appear to be related to organized crime. The Carabinieri are investigating. The Prosecutor’s Office of Catania has opened an investigation.
