Ship stranded in Rometta liberated and towed to Milazzo.

Yesterday evening, November 27, the operations to refloat the Lider Prestij, a Cameroonian-flagged motor ship stranded on the sandy shore of Rometta Marea, were concluded under the coordination of the coast guard of Milazzo. The ship was found without fuel and crew on board. After a successful inspection of the hull integrity by the personnel of the Third Underwater Unit of the coast guard of Messina, the ship was refloated using local tugs and then towed to the port of Milazzo. The motor ship will undergo inspection by the coast guard to verify navigation safety standards.
