Ship Nadir rescues 42 migrants in international waters heading to Lampedusa

The NGO ship Nadir has rescued 42 migrants in international waters and is heading towards Lampedusa where it will arrive in the early afternoon and where the migrants will disembark. Meanwhile, 65 out of the 66 guests at the hotspot on the largest island of the Pelagie Islands are departing. The transfer by ferry was arranged by the Agrigento Prefecture. In the evening, the 65 migrants will arrive at Porto Empedocle: 56 adults will go to the hub in Messina, 2 unaccompanied minors to Villa Sikania in Siculiana, and 7 migrants will remain under the supervision of the Immigration office at the police headquarters.
