Scala dei Turchi

Discover the stunning beauty of Scala dei Turchi in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. The white marna cliffs, resembling an iceberg, create a spectacular contrast against the blue sea. Unlike other types of rock, the marna is cool to the touch, providing a refreshing sensation during hot Sicilian summers. Wind-carved and smoothed, the cliffs have natural cavities that form comfortable sun loungers, perfect for admiring the breathtaking view. From above or below the small sandy beach, Scala dei Turchi is a breathtaking sight. Thanks to its sheltered location, the beach of Scala dei Turchi was once a safe harbor for Arab pirate ships sailing to raid nearby villages. Despite the challenges of reaching it, it is now one of the most visited tourist attractions in Sicily.
