Santa Croce Camerina nature reserve fire restarts, mayor expresses sorrow

Explain the following article briefly:

There is a relentless fire in the Randello nature reserve in Santa Croce Camerina. The flames have regained strength in the area due to strong gusts of wind. The large wildfire that started two days ago was extinguished late yesterday afternoon, but the landscape had already become spectral, with charred trees and ash-covered ground, as shown in photos posted on social media in the RagusAttiva group. There is great distress for the municipal administration and citizens, as stated in the mayor, Peppe Dimartino’s message.

“The strong wind that has risen again in the past few hours is unfortunately fueling the fire inside the Randello reserve, and our city’s air is also affected. We are very saddened by the flames that are devouring an invaluable natural heritage like the reserve, and our deepest thanks go to all the workers who have been working day and night over the past forty-eight hours to tame the flames.”

“The Santa Croce municipal civil protection team is also actively operating on site,” the mayor continues, “and they have our support and gratitude. We hope for an improvement in weather conditions so that the flames can be tamed and the great heritage that the reserve represents can be preserved.” Currently, only firefighters and civil protection are on site, as the canadair planes cannot intervene due to wind gusts reaching up to eighty kilometers per hour.
